I think of myself as an artist in training. I’m more interested in creating new material, playing with the idea of being somewhere else, discovering new perspectives and building new angles rather than interpreting old ones, analyzing dusty academic topics or rewriting plain facts. Perhaps it’s because I tend to stay ignorant of things I find boring. Or maybe it’s because I don’t enjoy things that are obvious. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but I don’t want to spend my life buried in paperwork, in other people’s problems and dreams. Where do I want to spend my life? Well, that’s a completely different question. I’ll tell you once I know. I say I’m still ‘in training’ because good artist tends to know who they are or where they stand. I’m still figuring this out.
What I know for sure, is that I want to help people. Why not by showing how delightful life can be? I’m not a professional photographer either. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll decide to go down that route, but for the purpose of this post, I’m an iPhone owner who likes playing with angles, colours, and words. Here’s my take on Hong Kong, I hope these images will convey how vibrant, positive, inspiring and tranquil this city can be.
P.S. This is just ~25%, there will be one, maybe two more posts about Hong Kong. And a friendly reminder that any use of these images without my prior permission is prohibited.
